Currently, there are approximately 150 anti-transgender bills moving through state legislatures across the country. From banning participation in sports to so-called “bathroom bills,” to legislation that criminalizes providing life-saving gender-affirming health care, these bills are deadly for trans and nonbinary people of all ages.
Sponsored by the United Universalist Association, host Nova Madsen shares a recording and resources provided by Side With Love and the Trevor Project. Speakers Sam Ames, Director of Advocacy & Government Affairs for The Trevor Project; Rev. Erin Walter from Texas Unitarian Universalist Justice Ministry; and Rev. Lisa Garcia-Sampson from UU Justice Ministry on North Carolina share their stories and knowledge.
The virtual service and webinar will last approximately two hours. Feel welcome to watch the webinar on your own with the link below if you choose to. Anyone attending the live virtual service is encouraged to fill out a Google Form directly after the service for the purposes of feedback needed for remaining a UUA Welcoming Congregation.
Time will also be taken at the end to speak to you about our 2023 choice for Support a Welcoming Congregation, The Queer Detainee Empowerment Project.
Zoom information is the same as with our Sunday Services and Team Meetings. Leave a comment to receive Zoom sign-in information via messenger.
