Testimonials about Mosaic …

Mosaic UU Congregation calls me to be my best self; feels like a breath of fresh air; and is the congregation I attend on Sundays to get my batteries recharged.
Acknowledging that we are all on our own spiritual journeys, we gather to explore and examine our own spiritual paths and learn about the paths of others. Many different spiritual perspectives can be found at Mosaic.
Looking at the root of the word “worship” –“wor”=”worth” and “ship”= “shape,” Mosaicans come together to “shape what is worthy among us.”   We do this with love, compassion, and respect.
Judy Raymond

I am a confirmed Mosaic advocate of long-standing for several reasons.

Cary Ragsdale

What I like about Mosaic is the wide variety of people and mind sets. It allows for some deep conversations, as well as many learning opportunities to expand ones own mind and ones ability to talk cordially with people who have different opinions/thoughts.

The reason I keep coming back to Mosaic is my love for the congregation and the wide variety of activities we do. The congregation has become another family for me. Who welcome me and let me learn and grow myself for who I am. The different activities we do like going out to eat and just talking about anything and everything has been suck a great thing for me. As well as the group we have that plays D&D together it allows us to interact and think in ways our normal lives don’t typically let one do.
Toph Emmons

Mosaic has been the backdrop of my crazy life for more more than eight years now, and I can’t imagine life without this community of loving, laughing, welcoming people. No matter what life throws at me, my Mosaic friends accept and support me. And doing my best to live the UU principles has profoundly changed me as a person, very much for the better.

Tracy Lunquist

I have visited the range of religious worship houses and never felt quite at home until I visited Mosaic. This is a big deal for me because I’ve invested so much time trying to develop my spirituality into the religious house that I had belonged.

I don’t meet people easily. I was surprised by the kindness and thoughtfulness that the members showed me on my very first visit. I was welcomed and encouraged to come back by several people. I felt special and later learned that everyone who attends really is special through contribution of their talents to committees, special projects and personal goals. We are all encouraged to develop personal goals that are representative of Mosaic’s basic tenets. My presentation talked about spirituality in art. It was met with interest and encouragement in the Q&A session that followed the slide show.
Initially, I went to Mosaic to see someone’s presentation. At every service, there is a speaker who gives a presentation. The presentation ranges in a wide spectrum of topics with the exception of politics. Do come for a visit. You will be welcomed and engaged.

Shaping What is Worthy by Rev. Tracy Lunquist

    Service Leader: Annabelle Carlson

Some UUs are squeamish about “God language” words like “worship.” This morning, we’ll dig into the meaning of the word “worship” — “to shape what is worthy” — and see if we can reclaim this and other spiritually-laden terminology to communicate what we do, and what we love, in UU spiritual practice.

Please join us. Everyone is welcome!

“Imagining Mary: A UU Christmas Contemplation” by Dr. Sarah Mahler.

    Worship Leader - Jan Holloway

The Christmas season revolves around the miraculous birth of Jesus to a virgin—the Virgin Mary. For Christian believers, this is evidence that, as the Bible says, “God can do anything!” For an anthropologist, there are multiple additional interpretations of this story that honor the UU principle of a free and responsible search for truth and meaning. These include sociological, psychological, mystical, feminist and political readings. Contemplating them adds depth to imagining and understanding Mary at the time of this most momentous event.
